Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition (NTI) Tension Supression System - we learnt of this term today at the TMJ Clinic and its supposed to help patients with jaw pain or migraine caused by parafunctional habits like clenching. looks pretty cool :)

so lately i have been watching masterchef malaysia on youtube. made me feel at home with the bahasa malaysia lol. and today skyped with mom. regarding their flights when they come over for graduation. haha. i really miss my mom! and ya when my mom asked me how i feel about clinic work, i told her i m comfortable with the patients and everything now except crowns and root canals hahaa and she told me even if i dont like certain things i still have to learn k. haha.

yesterday i took some extraoral and intraoral radiographs for a patient that i ve decided to choose as a candidate for case presentation but was still looking for a more suitable one.

• simvasta - simvastatin for high cholesterol (anti hyperlipidemic)
• nifedipin and amlodipin - calcium chanel blocker (antihypertensive)
• omeprazole - for acid reflux
• betaloc - selective beta blockers to treat high blood pressure and prevent angina
• cilazapril - ACE inhibitor for hypertension or congestive heart failure
• sindopa - dopamine for parkinsons
• all the above medications doesnt react to adrenaline in local anaesthesia
• non selective beta blockers like propanolol will have reactions to adrenaline
• adrenaline in LA contraindications include monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants
• antibiotic cover is required for patients who had shunts (drains liquid from the brain) for brain aneuryms but not stents

lol had my first official dental stress now. was just looking through my patients list and just roughly counting out the fillings, crowns, endo, extractions and dentures that i ll be doing this year (we have a quota of stuff to do you see). and sudden panic as i think i dont have enough patients for certain stuff. i ve actually told myself to stop seeing new patients and do new H&Es as i m worried i cant finish them (their treatments). but i think i need to really ask more patients to come in haih. anyway, i know we have clinics everyday but honestly i wish there were more because if you count in the easter holidays, 3-4 UCU weeks, 5-week placement etc i m so scared i cant do them all :( lol anyway lets hope UCU gives me more fillings to do and i need more endo patients :(

this sums up my life. for now.
